The special issue of IEEE Computing in Science & Engineering honoring J. Tinsley Oden (1936–2023) is finalized, in the January–March 2026 issue. It was guest-edited with Danial Faghihi and Serge Prudhomme and collects eight contributions from his former students and colleagues, across three strands: his personal life, his part in building CSEM education at the Oden Institute, and his scientific contributions.
The preface is the piece I would point to first. It carries personal recollections and photographs contributed by his mentees, which is not the sort of thing that usually survives into a journal.
